Promote Yourself By Going Back To School

If you’ve ever been passed over for a promotion that you deserved…

If you’ve ever imagined yourself in a new career…

If you’ve ever wanted to challenge yourself personally and academically…

Then going back to school may be the answer for you. Sure it may have been years since you’ve opened a textbook or crammed for an exam. You may have skipped the SAT. Or maybe you’ve never even set foot on a college campus. And on top of that, you don’t know how you can balance your studies with work or family. Or, more importantly, balance the checkbook to pay for your education.

All of these factors are easy excuses for why you shouldn’t go back to school. But there are so many more reasons why you should.

Completing your degree or getting an advanced degree can propel you forward in your career. If you’re changing careers, an education is the key to unlocking new opportunities and getting a jump start on the career you wish you had. For many, finishing a degree is the fulfillment of a long-held personal goal. Adults from age 25 to 85 are proving that you are never too mature to learn. This is one reason why adult students now make up the fastest-growing population on college campuses. There are now more than 3 million students who are over the age of 35.

And if you haven’t heard this already, going back to school also provides financial rewards. According to the most recent U.S. census, with a college degree you will earn an average of $1 million more than someone who doesn’t graduate from college over the course of your lifetime. More than increasing your income, however, going back to school will help you gain a personal sense of satisfaction like no other. You will finish the degree that you’ve always wanted, advance to the next level of your career or follow your passions to a new career. These rewards are more valuable than the size of your paycheck, and they are all within reach.
